WORKSHOP DECRIPTION This workshop aims to raise awareness about the profound impacts of the origins and impacts of intergenerational trauma. It also fosters a constructive dialogue connecting both mind and heart marking essential steps towards reconciliation. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Gain a comprehensive understanding of intergenerational trauma, its origins, and its impact on individuals, families, and communities. Explore the historical context and systemic factors contributing to intergenerational trauma within specific cultural and societal contexts. Identify common manifestations and symptoms of intergenerational trauma across generations. Understand the potential long-term effects of intergenerational trauma on mental health, emotional well-being, and interpersonal relationships. Discuss resilience factors and coping mechanisms that can help mitigate the impact of intergenerational trauma. Examine cultural and community-based approaches to healing and recovery from intergenerational trauma. Develop sensitivity and empathy towards individuals and communities affected by intergenerational trauma. Foster dialogue and strategies for promoting healing, reconciliation, and empowerment within affected communities.
